Dem Lathrop is in the Senate race

We are getting word from many sources that State Senator Steve Lathrop is planning to run for the Democrat nomination for the U.S. Senate.

Lathrop’s candidacy would likely push out (snort) former Senator Bob Kerrey who has stated that he is thinking about it and would make his decision by January 12th.

Lathrop was seen as very likely to run for his party’s nomination for Governor in 2014.   If his Senate run ultimately fails (as many feel it will), it will mainly be seen as a trial loss for his 2014 campaign.

Did you hear that giant sucking sound? It was Lathrop’s lifelong work (money) as a trial lawyer being sucked out of his pockets to be wasted on a losing Senate race. Couldn’t happen to a better (more arrogant) guy.

OMG, all the legislature is going to hear is BSDC, and CIR reform bashing the Gov. But then again that leaves only Conrad to keep the Libs in line. Thankfully the R’s in the body play well with the D’s.

Another time he might have had a chance. No way are Nebraskans going to send a Dem back to this Senate seat after Nelson.

By the way cosmic Bob Kerry is looking for a home in west Omaha now. We shall see just what is what in a few weeks. Besides doesn’t Lathrop have his eyes on the corner office? It will be interesting to say the least.

    Oh and, go Charlie go:-)

Steve Lathrop supported the Learning Community, flip flopped on Illegal Immigration, is in the pockets of Big Labor, supported by environmentalist whackos, flip flopped on Pro-Life issues…

Dude is going to be exposed in a BIG way.

If he puts up a halfway decent fight, the built up name ID certainly couldn’t hurt him in a 2014 governors race…maybe…
