Jerry Kratochvil talks about his day at the Presidential Iowa Ag Summit in Des Moines. He discusses what it was like at the event, literally shoulder to shoulder with the other members of the press and talking directly to some of the Presidential candidates.

The latest Quinnipiac University Poll of likely Iowa Republican Caucus participants shows:
Name %
Walker 25
Paul 13
Carson 11
Huckabee 11
Bush 10
DK/NA 9
Cruz 5
Christie 4
Rubio 4
Santorum 4
Perry 3
Jindal 2

For avoidance of confusion, Gov. Mike Huckabee won the 2008 Iowa Caucuses, and Sen. Rick Santorum won the 2012 Caucuses.

Anybody under 10% is done. Not sure that those left, over 10%, are electable, even after Hillary’s “Tonya Harding” moment with email.

So Sweeper, now that you’ve had your first question to a presidential candidate at a presidential forum, I guess you’ll be pumped for awhile. Too bad it was Huckabee and not Rand Paul you got to! I have been curious about how the ag sector responds to Paul, and from the numbers presented above, it looks like the response has gone well.

And now…Paul has signed on to a federal medical marijuana bill. Good on him!
Next he needs to open the prisons and let the pot smokers go!!!

So apparently Bret Lindstrom isn’t a “purist” after all. That would have been nice to know a couple years ago!!!

  4. to David says:

Nothing screams fiscal conservative like spending millions on the death penalty which you cannot perform and have not done in 17 years. No one is against killing evil guys but paying millions of tax payer dollars towards something you can not do is not fiscally responsible.

  5. David Bywater says:

My only point is that Lindstrom and now it seems Ebke too, spent a LOT of time as the pot calling the kettle black.

  6. Brian T. Osborn says:

Oh no! Sweeper, tell us it isn’t so! You’re just like Bud Pettigrew, one of those guys that can’t wait to have his picture taken close to important people.
