Brad’s pits

The NRCC has put an ad together summarizing Democrat Congressman Brad Ashford’s issues with the Omaha Housing Authority, entitled, “Conflict of Interest“.

See it here:

They note:

As former CEO of the Omaha Housing Authority (OHA), Congressman Brad Ashford is now lobbying President Obama to give OHA leniency to pay back millions in misspent taxpayer dollars, a mistake that may have been made under his watch.

Ashford is lobbying the Obama Administration to give OHA leniency for its possible wrongdoings that may have occurred while he was CEO. Watchdog organizations have requested access to a recent audit showing whether or not Ashford was involved but it has yet to be released by the federal government.

They will be micro-targeting 2nd District families through Facebook and YouTube with the ad.

In the mean time, the absent-minded Representative continues his stroll through Congress.

You’ll remember things like him missing his time to pick his Congressional office…referring to Congressional bills under the state legislative title of “LB”…pushing staff to leave since he decided not to campaign…

And just on the death by paper-cuts track, there is this latest campaign solicitation by Brad…

Well, at least we know that Ashford is working with the same campaign peeps as Florida’s Annette Taddeo (a Democrat challenging a first term Republican). Maybe they’ll have some insight into defeating a freshman Rep?

In any case, they’re keeping up that solid attention to detail for which the Congressman is known.

And keeping with the Congressional theme, here is a video put together by Senator Deb Fischer’s office, celebrating the Nebraska Breakfast in DC.

If you visit, be sure to put it on your to-do list (before you wait in line to get into Air and Space).

  1. Omaha Republican says:

I have to admit that I was very wrong about Deb Fischer. When Deb Fischer was first elected I had serious doubts about her. Between her snoozer sermons at the unicam and her rather pedestrian political career to that point I guess I didn’t expect much out of her.

Her speeches are still sometimes tough to sit through but she has turned out to be a top tier U.S. Senator who has stayed very true to her constituents. I’ve never been so pleased to be wrong.

Keep it up Senator Fischer, and God Bless.

  2. Anonymous says:

I like the video and idea of showcasing the Nebraska Breakfast, just too much promo of Deb. Would have been nicer and more magnanimous if they would have shown the entire Delegation interacting, yes, even Brad.

  3. Anonymous says:

Quinnipiac Univ. testing shows 55% of toothbrushes in bathrooms contained fecal coliforms. And when contaminated, there’s an 80% chance the bacteria came from another person, apparently some wag who uses your brush to clean the commode.

Brad all but wears a “kick me” sign. Better test his brush.

  4. Anonymous says:

Ernie Chambers headed the fight to end the Death Penalty in NE.

Ask Chambers today about Charleston’s gunman Dylann Roof. Maybe Ernie figures prison inmates will rape the guy to death on his first day in slam. But that’s not justice, is it?

  5. Ernie didn't repeal the death penalty says:

How about some accuracy here Anonymous? Hinkleman was the 30th vote. He had the LAST say in the matter. Hinkleman alone decided the issue for the state. Stop crediting Chambers for repealing the death penalty and give credit where it is due.
