Per the Washington Post, Joe Ricketts has thrown his substantial support behind Presidential candidate Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker — to the tune of $5 Million.

(As the late Thurston Howell, III used to say, “That’s walking around money…“)

The Post notes…

(Joe and Marlene Ricketts’) son, Todd, is another Walker donor and co-chairman of his national fundraising efforts. In recent months he has hosted events for the governor and traveled with him on the campaign trail.

Joe Ricketts, the family patriarch, settled on Walker after private meetings over the past year at his New York apartment and his ranch in Wyoming’s Jackson Hole valley. They bonded over their Midwestern backgrounds and conservative views on spending, associates said.

Laura Ricketts, daughter of Joe and Marlene, is one of the Democratic Party’s mega-donors. Pete Ricketts, one of the couple’s three sons, was elected governor of Nebraska last year.

ICYMI, Senator Deb Fischer, a member of the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, quizzed Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz regarding the proposed Iran nuclear agreement earlier this week.

See a good chunk of the exchange, mainly regarding inspection notification, here:

While Muniz insisted that the inspection agreement includes a 24 day clock (as if three weeks isn’t an inordinate amount of time), Senator Fischer noted that in fact the text of the agreement says it is 89 days.

(Wonder which the Iranians will use?)

When asked on a call about her thoughts on the President’s declaration that it is either this agreement or WAR with Iran, Senator Fischer noted that it is a false choice, and that the President is misleading the people.

On a separate note, Secretary Moniz is a cross between George Washington and Ernest Borgnine.

  1. KHDS says:

How much money has Jane Kleeb and Bold Nebraska cost the State of Nebraska and its hardworking citizens?

She has already put a Neligh couple into Chapter 7 BK.

In 2013 Creighton Econ prof Ernie Goss calculated that KXL would add $1.8b to NE economy over 17 years. So if we front load that number somewhat we can call it $300M.

Jane Kleeb is the most dangerous and damaging person in NE since Bill Callahan. Callahan was way cheaper! Anyone comparable to the Burger King heiress?

    Others numbers and comparables?

  2. Anonymous says:

Complaining about Jane Kleeb doesn’t make her go away. Just like 5, 50, 500 or 5,000 votes to repeal the Affordable Care Act in the House. Why keep bringing Jane Kleeb up? To what effect & end?

  3. Sasse is Anti-Veteran says:

Ask Ben Sasse why he was one of only 4 Senators who voted against a VA bill yesterday that passed 90 to 4.

  4. The Judge says:

I wonder if Ted Cruz wants his endorsement back, now that Ricketts has proven to be an AWOL Governor, incapable of implementing conservative policies, who’s given millions to Scott Walker. All the candidates looking to hop on the Ricketts gravy train should have realized there was only one seat.

  5. KHDS says:

Kleeb needs to be called out, exposed as the fake, liberal hypocrite that she is. She needs to be shamed. She should slither back to the East Coast.

Because that’s the way the Left rolls.

Turnabout is fair play. A taste of her own medicine.

She stands to inherit a Burger King fortune and she runs around the country raising energy prices for hardworking Americans. I’m not even including Scott’s massive real estate fortune in this calculus.

We need to see her off-shore accounts and personal tax returns! We know that couple in Neligh were bankrupted by her! The rich non-native Nebraskan destroying our fellow Huskers. Shameful.

  6. Frequent Voter says:

One of my liberal friends is developing drinking game rules from the upcoming GOP Presidential debate. Any suggestions?

  7. Indications are the StemExpress videos, on which there is currently a prior-restraint injunction, involve trading in intact fetuses that were delivered alive.

Ghouls. And their defenders, here and elsewhere, are ghouls.

  8. cob says:

Hillary Clinton recently attacked Jeb Bush at length “over racial equality”. Until now, we might have charitably chalked up her silence to a strategy of quiet strength. But she is stabbing one of 19 announced GOP candidates, a guy in a mixed marriage, over race.

She is Bill’s legacy not Barack’s. And much as Americans love hubby bubba, Americans want to climb into bed with Hillary about as much as Bill does.

Hillary is waddling off into the sunset in broad daylight. Most media don’t see it but she does.

So, the plagiarizing pluginator? Why not? Idiots make better presidents than ones with good ideas.

  9. KHDS says:

The liberal hypocrisy and destruction caused by non-native Nebraskan Jane Kleeb will soon be exposed!

Secret videos coming soon to YouTube.

  10. TexasAnnie says:

Gerard if you inflame folks by calling them “ghouls,” and the Republicans try to defund Planned Parenthood, we’ll get more budgeting misery. With the nuclear deal hanging in the balance, do we really need to do abortion, again, at this time?

  11. Macdaddy says:

RWP, I’m not sure I even want to know what’s in the rest of the videos. You know they’ve saved the most damning for last and we’re already at delivering babies and letting them die. I’m guessing that the later videos talk about not just letting them die but actively killing them. But it’s OK, according to Texas Annie because we already went through this in the 70’s and of course we came to a national consensus back then. If you want to make soylent green…

  12. TexasAnnie says:

“Where I believe we need to start reforming welfare is eliminating welfare for the wealthy.”
    -Charles Koch, Aug. 1, 2015!

  13. The Grundle King says:

    You’re right…my apologies.

At first, it appeared to me that you were discussing abortion with RWP and Macdaddy…but it’s apparent to me now that you’re all over the board.
