Joni Ernst 01Jerry Kratochvil interviews United State Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA).

Senator Ernst discusses her experience over the summer talking to constituents and why she thinks people have taken an interest in candidates such as Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Carly Fiorina. And she talks about whether or not she will endorse a candidate before Iowa Caucuses.

She then talks about her stance on the Iran Nuclear deal and why she voted against in the Senate, particularly as a Lt. Col. in the Iowa Army National Guard. They talk about what is next for the agreement, and whether it should be classified as a Treaty. Senator Ernst also gives her thoughts as to whether the so-called “nuclear option” in the Senate can work.

They conclude by discussing the Senator’s leadership on nullifying the EPA’s Waters of the U.S. rule, and where that issues will go from here.

Joni is a soldier. So there’s no surprise that she views the world as “out to get Americans.” President Obama is trying to make peace in the world. Thus, the Iran nuclear agreement! But, Joni points out, it’s just an agreement. (It’s not a treaty which would require 2/3 ratification in the Senate.) Any future administration, or even this one, can nullify the agreement. And they should, if Iran doesn’t keep it’s peacemaking bargain. I have decided to trust the Obama administration because, frankly, I’m weary of war. It only begets more war. If we can live in peace, via peaceful agreements, why not? And besides, the more we listen to the talking heads about Iran, the further we get from truth. How do YOU know that what you KNOW about Iran is true? And isn’t that information classified???

Now I’ve got to go google the “Waters of the U.S.” rule…

  2. See but.... says:

In this case, Iran is actually out to get us or perhaps you haven’t heard their “Death to America” chants recently or their sponsorship of terrorism.

  3. Anonymous says:

Chants? Chants don’t kill. Sometimes Americans spew rhetoric, too.
Sponsorship of terrorism? How do you know that ‘fact’ is TRUE?

  4. Macdaddy says:

Of course chants don’t kill us, moron, but when your enemy says they are going to kill you, you should believe them. In addition, they are developing nuclear weapons and long range rockets. At the minimum, they will be able to reach Europe in a few years with a missile. What about their current regime do you see changing in the next 30 years? Nothing. The same murderous nut jobs will be there plotting against us. And so far, it has worked well for them. They’ve really gotten a lot out of our current President. More than they could have hoped to further their current plans. Iran: killing Americans without repercussions since 1979.

  5. The Grundle King says:

Many defenders of the Iran deal point to Iran’s young population as a sign of hope that, in the coming years, Iran will become less of a hard-line nation, and that they’ll start to come around and warm up to us infidels.

Well, if that young population is represented by those attending Tehran University, I’d say that idea holds about as much water as the shifting desert sands.

I spent years overseas monitoring Iran. Ernst is correct. Yet while everyone sees the threat, all who think like Obama, and feel their love will make the bad guys good, they cannot be dissuaded. Thus nothing Ernst says about the Iran deal can make a difference if Obama is followed by a Biden or the usual Republicans who cannot when poked in the ass find it with two hands.

All that truly matters today is the GOP Primary and Ernst doesn’t want to talk about it. That and the cancer of PC that permeates all and is the core of un-dissuadable unreason. Our danger really and truly is our own naïve political correctness.
